In Topic: Convertible recommendations for my dad - an M roadster, Boxster, other?

07 January 2019 - 08:44 AM

Having owned a Z3Mcoupe (S52, Evergreen) and driven on and off track a '12 boxster; my opinion is the Z3 won't steal the show.  They have power; but the boxster has a much better overall driving experience.  Plus Z3M has a terrible terrible rear subframe tearing issue that if it hasn't been done is not the funnest job to do or pay for.  He will really have to want the kookiness of the Z3m.

In Topic: Goals for 2019

Oh I like this thread.

1. Stop cycling cars so damn fast I need to stay below cars of my age, I'm 34 now so another 2 cars i'm screwed haha. (Owned not currently own 30 cars).

2. Stay the F away from anything power mod related.

3. Find a way to blend added safety in Miata without requiring tow vehicle.

4. Convince my company to replace my company Ford Escape with a capable tow version hehehehhehehe.

5. Get enough clients to finally dip into tig welding.

6. Start back up carbon fiber parts production.

7. Stay off sticky green.

In Topic: Race seat into an NC and keeping steering wheel airbag functional

04 January 2019 - 07:16 PM

That is correct. Also consider safety on if you really want the airbag working or just light off. If its just light off, some cars you can remove the actual light bulb for light, and other cars you have to shove a piece of black tape in and then put light behind it.  Without research i'll assume you have none of these options and I totally get why it would annoy you to see light.

In Topic: lobster car or how to choose seats?

You know in Texas you don't have to run side mirrors by law if your rear view mirror works.  Just saying...  :)    And WHAT a sweet build.  Shoot I keep vette on road and track my miata hehe but every vette build makes me dream it was different.

In Topic: 1999 Lexus SC400 - I messed up good this time

29 December 2018 - 07:00 PM

Like the updates. I've owned two slushbox SC's; 1995 SC400 and 1997 SC300.  In another life it would have been 2x SC400's; their just better if you care nothing for boost.  The SC400 I never even changed timing belt and sold it working north of 240k miles.  I'd always though it was too piggish for track use; this has certainly changed my mind a little.
