Wilwood rotor defect

Recommended Posts

My son & I were replacing pads and rotors on my Trackspeed BBK. My son noticed this - looks like a casting defect?

I don't see how that won't result in cracking or some other weird failure. I'd email your supplier, of course, and would expect them to exchange them.

That was my conclusion - it'll get a weird heat pattern & then fail. Amazon have agreed to send a replacement even though it's outside the return window.

Wilwood apparently has grown too much too fast and has some quality problems

I had the Wilwood 4 piston kit on the front brakes of my NA

bought new slotted Wilwood rotor rings from Summit

installed them and went to bed the new pads

got a horrible shudder each time I touched the brakes

apparently the machining of the slots caused the pad to grab the edge of the slot

returned them to Summit without a problem

bought blanks and no problem

called Wilwood and they had "never heard of that"

my buddy Hornet Ball had exactly the same experience

It's amazing how many times I hear that from many manufacturers.

My new TA2 car has the spec Wildwood brake package. We had done front rotor cracking issues after debut at TA2 November COTA last year. They made it right. That’s much better than s lot of other folks do!!
