Each time I found you in my rear view mirror, I basically prepped for the pass LOL (btw... was driving gray C7, not the Hellcat in my avatar) It was a fun day and awesome weather! There were like 3 of us gray vettes. My C6GS, Gene in his C7Z06, and your C7 Stingray. I still haven't mastered clockwise yet. I'm still about 2.5 seconds off my best lap counter clockwise and supposedly you can run the same time either direction. SAD 1 Link to post
SAD
I am also not as practiced doing clockwise as I am CCW - just how it is when most of the HPDE/HST days go CCW. I pointed Gene by me... and then stuck to him like glue. I'm nowhere near as fast as you, but was running a 1:28-1:29 kind of "follow the leader" pace with him. It was a fun day and awesome weather! SAD
I’m running Cup2s 245/285. I’ve got a touch of understeer. Some is my lousy turn-in and just need to smooth myself out. Some could benefit from wider tire up front. Mine is a base. So no widebody. Next set will be 265/285 or 265/295. A7s? Not R? You’re not overheating the As? What tires were you on? I've had one set of R7s and this was my first set of A7s. A7s probably fall off a little faster toward the end of the session but on cool days like September through November they've held up well. I like how I can just warm up with one lap on the A7s and start pushing. R7s and Pirelli DHs (on my other set of wheels) take a while longer to warm up using up my session especially on cooler days. Tires: Hankook RS-4s 305/30/19 (970 laps/78 heat cycles) First timer @ Hallett, so I was on tilt at first. Fun track, but words cannot express how nuanced the surface is (camber changes, bumps, patches, etc). Its fast too but requires knowledge, practice, and <ahem> large attachments as the walls are close. I was lacking in all categories so it me some time to warm up. Stick axle and older tires didn't exactly add to my confidence but I got a lot of laps to work on it. Theoretical was 1.28.555 (-1.3). For me, that's pretty close for a new track. Lot of charm to this place and great weather resulted in a fantastic weekend. I could certainly drop time with more commitment, but I was wanting to make sure I drove it home as shiny as I brought it. As always a work in progress. https://youtu.be/BQ_bhOu6ODM Thundermoose 1 Link to post
