Matt93SE
Since nobody has this one going already, I'll start. Time: 1:29.1 Car: 96 Nissan 240SX, (under)prepped for SCCA STU class. Weight: 2680 w/ driver HP: 150whp (estimated- 140k miles on stock engine w/ bolt-ons) Tires: BFG R1 225/45/17 front, R1-S 245/40/17 rear. Weather: Approx 55deg and windy Notes: Corded my good front tires on Friday practice and went to an old set of hard compound fronts to finish the weekend. Car was understeering horribly, but I was able to make it turn with judicious application of throttle and steering after turn-in. With better tires, would expect well into the 1:28s. Link to post

Shuka
ah, so, you likey Maxxis? Yes, they're not bad. Not as fast as RR's I think, but need to benchmark them at TWS so I can compare data. I dig the contingency... the above time won me second place in TT (missed 1st place and a track record by .021 seconds!) Link to post

I never found the RRs to be faster than NT01s, but I think I may have been doing it wrong or something. Did you feel they were faster? robert Link to post

This car is faster than I was capable of driving that weekend, but I'm still learning this track. You will see I'm too early entering Turn 4, so my lines should be ignored. Our best time here with NASA in 2013 was a 1:24.365, so we dropped nearly 3 seconds from last year. Won the TT3 class both days running against Porsche GT3 and 930, C5 Z06, Boss302 and more. hornetball
That sure is a nice looking red NA you're chasing Michael! LOL. Best lap is #6 starting around 7:50. Unfortunately, I've got car issues. The 4-2 downshift at Turn 2 bent some intake valves Friday, so I just dealt with it Saturday. Car won't idle anymore without my foot massaging the gas and the compression test was sad (50-160-70-175). Leakdown test confirmed the intake valve leakage. Didn't even have to listen for it, I could feel the air coming through the throttle body. So, time to redo the head -- maybe with some better valve springs this time. Oh, and just to end on a high note, here's my Turn 1 off on the last session of the weekend (I had been a good boy up until this point): Link to post

We're going to need a Rotrex kit and some Hoosiers next year. robert Have you seen the kit that transplants an Acura 3.2-3.4L V6 into a NA/NB? It mates up to the stock transmission somehow... the Rotrex may no longer be on my wish list... Edit: here's a link to the blurb about it http://www.superfastmiatas.com Link to post
