Saw you out there!!

It's curious that the lap was such an outlier though, especially given your consistency.  I've had GPS blips before that would skew the timing of a single lap.

No consistency.  :)   More like make space, run a couple laps, hit traffic, make space, run a couple laps.  And it was the second session on the new spring rates.

hmmm, that screen shot didn't come out very clear.  Hopefully it conveys how the session went.

Went out with a coworker on a member's day. There were 2 other cars on the track. A Miata and a V8 Radical SR8. The Radical passed me like I was standing still. The new sway bar completely changed the composure of the car, it really wants early gas now. I'm still parking it during my rattlesnake entrance.

1.7 CCW Lap time: 1:24:56 (1:22:85 virtual best, so I've got some good gains in sight)
Date: Oct 22, 2016
Car: 2001 BMW M Coupe
Estimated weight with driver: 3100 pounds
Estimated RWHP: 290
Tires: mid life NT01s
Estimated temp: Low 70s and clear

Still pushing my front tires sideways thru the slowest corners, working on smoothing those out to save my tire budget if nothing else. Will post a vid of the session for group giggles when I can get my laptop fired up.

Best lap was 17/45 in this clip. Spent most of lap 18 chasing down my wife in the blue Cayman S, and finally got her point by after Ricochet in lap 19.

That's bookin it, especially for a car with a complete interior. Nice job.

I had to laugh . . . I actually had my seat heater on for the first run Saturday morning since it was so cool out.

BTW - very proud of how nicely my wife is doing in her Cayman S. She's running pretty solid 1:27s and 1:28s, while also being a lot easier on the car than I'm able to be. Until the last run on Sunday when she started getting tired, only 1 other car and I in the PCA Yellow group were able to pass her. Even during the last session when she got tired, it took a new Cayman GT4 to get past her.

It doubles the expense, but you at least never have to come up with an excuse for taking a weekend at the track.

You never have to explain any car related purchases. It's only when they don't want to run tires with more than 10 HC that the wallet takes a hit. Watching @sierralima in a 1.6 SM run down corvettes and other high HP cars is worth it.

It does make Christmas shopping very easy. Sticky tires are the new jewelry.

Figured out I get my best times when I'm in chase mode. Got this lap chasing down my wife who turned a 1:27:15 trying to stay ahead of me. Ended up backing off a hair and following her for 3-4 laps so we'd have some good video of her to study.

The whole time I was dogging her heels I was laughing at how stupid it'd be if she spun and I was the one right there to run into it. The car damage alone would be sobering, but being the one that hurt her baby would be the part I'd pay the steepest price for.

edit - finally got the video uploaded. Chasing her in lap 22 was my new PB, she was flying and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to catch her for a bit. Also had some fun playing with a Miata on lap 26.

I hadn't been out for a month and a half, so decided I would ease myself back into things.  That lasted approximately 2 laps . . . .
