  1. Hey Joe! Uhh, since you seem to be making the trip. Any chance you could haul some sway bars from Houston to Cresson? Lol I got my eye on some for sale and maybe you could pick them up for me and bring them with you. When are you making the trip?
  2. I've now been to COTA with General Admission, Turn 12 Bleachers, VIP track side at Turn 13 at F1, and Turn 15 at IndyCar. I've sat at the main grand stands too for Superlap Battle..not a race though. My personal vote would be Turn 15 hands down best seats to spectate. Specifically, lowest section number possible..ideally 1-3..max section 5 or 6...and row number 30 or higher. The sections 3 and lower let you see the long straight and all of the turns from 12-16 really good. Row numbers 30 is where the red seats are that have arm rests and are comfy. Turn 12 are bleachers. Solid #2 pick, but get as high as you can because the fence obstructs your view if you're too low. GA is OK if you dont want to spend too much cash, but you have to lug a chair around all day. I liked sitting near turn 19 the best. VIP is really cool near Turn 13....you can smell the brakes and cars are pretty close..plus you get free drinks all day and food too. Prices are crazy though, way more than I care to spend for one ticket. Talking like $2500 each here. Hope this helps in case anyone was wondering!
  3. https://champcar.org/mainweb/event/harris-hill-raceway-87-enduros-2/ That's only thing i could find
  4. Yep! Very first wheel to wheel for me. #1 goal is to bring myself and the car back the same way we went out 😛
  5. Hey gang! Me and 2 buddies are racing at Harris Hill next weekend. Anyone from here going? We'll be in #335 BMW 325is..stop by and say hi!!
  6. Wish I could ! I love the 3.1 I will be watching Indy @ COTA that weekend
  7. Garages are not climate controlled, right? Didn't seem like last time i was in there with you Brad. Do they have Wifi in the clubhouse? Can you re-sell the membership if we can't use it anymore for whatever reason?
  8. Can 2 cars fit in the single bay garages? The website is updated with new prices. $5K one time fee and $250 a month. Guess it's too late to get the previous prices with only $2.5K buy in?
  9. As someone who is currently tracking a base, I advise against a base model. Get the Grand Sport instead if you're going C6! That is assuming you're expecting to go fast in advanced levels. The dry sump will help safe guard against the engine being oil starved on sweepers. The base model has limited tire widths (limited mechanical grip) vs the wide body Vettes. I've maxed my tire width out at 275 front and 305 rear...about the safest I can fit under the fenders...and the tire selection for these sizes is pretty limited. There's also cooling goodies that come with a GS that you'll want. Plus it just looks way better IMO. Stock seats should also be better on a 2012/2013 GS I believe. So ya, just the wider wheel/tires and dry sump system alone is worth the extra cost for a Grand Sport IMO.
  10. Whoa whoa whoa guys!! Back on topic here.... BRZ vs Vette you mofos! Who's the real deal @ Cresson?! Huh? This would be more interesting if I already had my new BRZ :) Soon though! I want one..then I can be slow in a Vette and a Berz...so who laughs at who !!
  11. I always buy some photos too from every event, for same reasons. He captures some really good shots sometimes!
  12. Base, not Z51..but otherwise everything accurate! I suppose you could call it a Z51 since it has the sway bars and upgraded brake kit though. Was my first time trial event :) Loads of fun!! My most impacting mods include headers/exhaust + tune..maxed out wheel/tire width and yep NT01s. Some other stuff too like upgraded cooling and stuff, but nothing that helps me for lap times I don't think.
  13. I've been using NT01's for a while. Which cheater AX tires are you talking about specifically? I'd like to be in the know and check to see if they're available in the sizes I want.
  14. Thanks man! This was also my first time using the AIM, but I don't have the ECU connected yet..so no data. I'll have it for next event in April and going forward. I think there's some time on the table for sure, could use some polishing and more seat time in Houston..i only get out there once a year. Maybe i should try for a second event out there this year.
  15. Track name: MSR Houston CCW Date: 3/3/2019 Lap time: 1:46.72 Car: 2012 Corvette Total vehicle weight with driver: ~3500 Estimated wheel horsepower: ~450 Tire: Nitto NT01 My new personal best !! I "think" I left a tiny bit of time on the table because I lifted right before finish line since there was a car ahead of me that couldn't let me pass. I got promoted to red this weekend and this was my very first and only run with the new group...which was the last red session of the day
  16. Weekend was a blast! Weather was almost a non issue and we got plenty of hot laps in. First session of day 2 was sketchy, but the rest were purdy good. Was a pleasure meeting Chris and Phillip and I even got to see Joe again. I'm still on the way back to Dallas...just stopping at Sam's Restaurant for lunch. I hope I can get some video uploaded soon!
  17. Weather changed last minute ( in my app ) Looks like we get Saturday dry at least. Woo!!
  18. Ermaghod this is amazing BBQ at Killen's! Onward to the hotel. See you guys tomorrow!
  19. I'm going. Got a solo seat in Turn 15. Looking forward to it!
  20. For real! I've been watching the forecast. It better freaking stay dry. Chances are 30% for Saturday according to my app as of today
  21. Just a heads up, I'm planning on driving out from Dallas on Friday morning. Not exactly certain what time I'll arrive in Houston area...but I'm guessing 1PM..ish..maybe later. I am a BBQ fan and am planning to have lunch at Killen's BBQ in Pearland in case anyone is interested in meeting up. Then after lunch I'll continue the drive to Angelton and rest up for the weekend. LMK!
  22. Car will be a new manual. It will be 2018+ Limited edition, no performance package cuz I want my own choice of brake kit and coil-overs Earliest I would grab it would be May...but I "might" wait if they announce the 2020 release date soon and it has good enough upgrades. Otherwise, either 2018/2019 Limited tS is nice, but I drive my cars and will definitely be modding it down the road. I'll just let the collectors snag up those 500 models
  23. I'm not 100% sure that there is a model refresh, i just meant latest year model. There were talks about possibly the engine having a turbo option..but something tells me that isn't going to happen. Would be nice though
  24. Anyone know any details about a 2020 BRZ model release date? I admit I flip-flop a lot on what I want for a second car. I've been on the fence about it for months, but i want something else so that I don't have to daily my Vette anymore. I've gone from wanting a Chevy Spark / KIA Rio (something cheap with low power to beat on), to wanting a pickup truck (combo daily and able to tow Vette to track), to a compact SUV (can take passengers and haul a little still and easy to get in and out of with good clearance), to an old beater Miata that I can have fun with and not worry about anything except smiles per gallon. Well, now I'm pretty sure a used car is out and I'm getting something new..and I've been convinced to get something I actually will enjoy with an option to do mild track days or convert to serious track car down the road...so now I'm back to a new BRZ..which I've been wanting for a couple of years now. It fits in the budget at around $30K, is one of the best handling cars available, manual, nice interior and tech with the limited edition, more roomy than a ND Miata for a bigger guy like me, and i think will hold value pretty well in case i have to sell it down the road (but this isn't an expectation, i fully expect to lose money if i sell it). Plus the aftermarket is awesome. I think this is a perfect choice for me and i want one. Now the only decision is to wait on the 2020, or just get the 2019. That would be easier if i knew a release date...but I'm not finding any articles about it.
  25. oh wow lol! I bet that was super fun to drive through and survive
