  1. Date: 6/29/19 Lap Time: 2:39.52 Car: 2012 Corvette Coupe Weight with Driver: 3400 ? WHP: 450ish Tires: Nitto NT01 255/40R17 & 275/40R18 Weather: Upper 90's, HOT This was my very first day driving COTA. Event #5 with SCCA Time Trial group. This session was actually a bonus session, we were only scheduled for 2 each day..but Brad Flack got us a 3rd one. My AIM failed so no data, and genius that I am I forgot to enable camera GPS..so just plain video. There's more time to be had easily, but I'm always chicken of pushing at a new track...and I could only get 2 hot laps before coolant reached max temp and lost power (260 water temps.) Need a lot more seat time for sure, but man this track is outstanding!
  2. Wow dude, glad it wasn't worse on track. I've had some moments after the session/day like that. Pretty scary, makes me open up the wallet for upgrades more easily.
  3. Only time I was ahead of @Max all weekend! Getting ready to give a point by !!! 🙂
  4. I have ya covered with my 3rd vehicle
  5. Just a heads up, headed to COTA for SCCA Time Trials on June 27th. Might have a little room on the back of the truck in case anyone needs some parts transported from Dallas.
  6. That sucks, Joe! Glad you and the car made it home OK. Time for that truck and trailer you were talking about 🙂
  7. CCW for me. CW I don't like the elevation decrease out of tombstone before buzzard's neck and after ricochet going into wagon wheel. Have mental block that makes me brake too much so that I won't go off
  8. Fun weekend guys! Got to meet some fellow junkies..and set a new PB in this direction. I need to learn how to analyze data with AIM. I set my PB in the very first session and wasn't able to reproduce it..but by day 2 I was pretty consistent 1:26 when I had clean laps. Car has more in it for sure. Will be uploading some videos today. Good chatting with you guys!
  9. MSR-C 1.7 CWDate: 6/9/19Lap time: 1:26.46 (AIM Solo 2 DL)Car: 2012 Corvette C6 BaseTotal vehicle weight with driver: 3,500 ???Wheel horsepower: 450ish RWHPTire size and model: NT01 275/40R17 Front 305/35R18 RearEstimated ambient temperature: ~90 degrees? Hot AF is all I know! This is 2nd fastest lap of the weekend where I set a new PB. Don't have video for the other one yet..have to try and get it from dash cam...the GoPro didn't have a battery for that session and I missed the good video recording. I'll update this post if I can get it. Fun event, but weather turned bad on Sunday and I didn't do the last session...which is OK because it started to get really windy and ugly/drizzling a bit and I wasn't sticking around for that crap. The rest of the time it was a freaking sauna.
  10. Hmm, ok well maybe not. Perhaps just my personal set up? I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 and used Track Addict app. I compared the lap times on a SCCA time trials event @ MSR Cresson in January 2019 and the phone lap times vs transponder were maybe a 10th sec off...thus the assumption. I guess doesn't apply to all phone/app combos?
  11. Yes! I've always wondered just how extreme it can get with a Miata. And I presume this will probably be the first ND Miata Kart? This will be fun. Any chance this can get on track? Would love to see some lap times and on board video!
  12. Phone vs external GPS do give similar lap times, but the refresh rate is what helps with data analysis. The phone just doesn't give enough data points to be as helpful. Pure lap times though, phone is good enough
  13. Found a trailer for Leroy! Got a great deal from a fellow Texas racer near the Houston area. 20 ft open trailer with tire rack already on it. He put new tires all the way around and threw in some Mac's tie downs and race ramps for low clearance loading. Going to try this out very soon, but I expect this should work out perfece for me.
  14. Yep, never ran with NASA...but that event is on my list too. Hope to get in on that, never done a Roval.
  15. Ahh, didn't realize you had the PDR. For video, not really. For data analysis, not sure if PDR can export for external analysis? AIM DL would certainly help there. I'm not advanced enough for analysis anyway, I just like the data overlay 🙂

  17. Nice car! And those are some fast laps dude. Freaking awesome. You need a good data logger and video set up. Phone ain't gonna cut it! Need some good reference videos with data overlay 🙂
  18. These are new tires just received from Discount Tire. Never mounted, still have stickers. Went with different size, dont need these...but will use if they dont sell.Date code 22nd week of 2018.$315 each or $600 for both. Pick up or meet around DFW
  19. I haven't driven it too much, but I learned on my 2nd time there to hug each turn as close as you can and let the car track all the way out. It was a matter of just bouncing from one side of the track to the other most of the time. On Turn 1 cut that corner and ride over the strip a bit with your left tires. Stay outside on Turn 2 and then cut in smoothly to hit the apex and track out past turn 3 to the straight. Really hug the inside of T4 and T5 too then track out and get back left. Ride the inside of T6 then stay out on the left for T7 and again really close on the apex to track out and then get back right. T8 is riding the left side right on the concrete and track out to the right on T9 and then get straight as soon as you can to go deep and then hit that apex on T10. My first time was very similar to yours. After seeing my friend's video and how freaking close he was on every corner, i cut almost 3 seconds off my time. More seat time helped of course..and the different lines didn't feel any faster..but the lap timer showed that it made a big difference. Here's some more info that may help: https://www.raceoptimal.com/HarrisHill
  20. I'd agree normally, and yes there are plenty of forums and facebook page groups that track their cars..but a very large majority are wide body Vettes while mine is narrow body. The sample size is much smaller to learn from. Had I known better, I would have gone wide body myself when I bought the car...but no do-overs!
